Continue along Union Street to the Parish Church of St Laurence of 14th century origin. It has associations with Myles Standish of the ‘Pilgrim Fathers’ and ‘Mayflower voyage in 1620. The church side aisles were added in 1860–1861. New church rooms were built at the southeast corner of the church in 1999-2000.

Continue along to the front gate of the churchyard, at the corner of Union Street with Market Street.
