The experience of the Windrush generation, 1948-71, is becoming better appreciated on a national scale. A town such as Chorley in the north of England may seem remote to that story but our local oral history research has produced fascinating recordings of three people bringing their families from Jamaica post World War Two. We want to use display of their experiences as an encouragement to others to forward their stories and memorabilia, which will enable us to mount a whole series of celebratory events between March and August 2023.
